Security Warning

We’ve just been notified by security that there have been six suspected terrorists working out of your office. Five of the six have been apprehended. Bin Sleepin, Bin Loafin, Bin Goofin, Bin Lunchin and Bin drinkin have been taken into custody. Security advised us that they could find no one fitting the description of the sixth cell member, Bin Workin, at your office. Security is still confident that anyone who looks like he’s Bin Workin will be very easy to spot. You are obviously not a suspect at this time.

The History of the ipod Podcast

without comments

What is now commonly called a podcast traces its origins back to the first ipod podcasts, they were the creation of distributed mp3 files that could be downloaded and played on Apple’s music player, the ipod. When the ipod first came out, and it’s users discovered what a wonderful thing it was for holding music. But some of the more tech savvy user’s had the idea of loading all sorts things that weren’t necessarily songs. Some of the people that got their hands on the ipod took the route of reverse engineering the ipod and loading on different firmware, or even a different operating system, but others had the idea of sharing small sound files, video files, &  pictures that could be stored & played on the ipod. The technology for distributing the files already existed, with RSS feeds. RSS feeds were a means of generating Machine-readable files that could share information between a server and a user. Many blogs already used them to keep readers up to date with the latest posts, but some hopeful podcasters had the idea of enclosing links to sound files within the RSS feed and downloading the file to the computer.

With the change in RSS feeds, ipod podcast became all the rage and took off, all of a sudden podcasting became a popular way to share files. Users saw podcasting as a way to become radio hosts, or dj’s, and a variety of podcasts began popping up. Software was written to automatically check the RSS feeds, extract the links to the podcast episodes, and download the files. These programs became known as podcast clients.

By this time, podcasting had moved beyond the ipod, and they were not simply making an ipod podcast anymore. Some people had figured out how to use even the PlayStation Portable gaming console as a podcast player. It was more difficult than downloading podcasts to the ipod, since the PSP used a different format for it’s files, but PSP podcasts began popping up. In addition, podcasting made inroads to the wider audience of people without iPods, who simply saw podcasting as an extremely convenient way to receive news, music, and entertainment over the internet. Now everyone uploads & downloads podcasts to the internet, from the local radio station to business wanting to share training & information to ordinary people like you & me.

Today, while the ipod podcast type still exists, fewer people subscribe to podcasts as a way of gaining portable media files they can listen to anywhere. Although that is still an attractive part of podcasting, it seems to be eclipsed by the ease with which podcasting has become a very convienient content delivery system. Now, podcasting has become tied up with the rising number of audio and video blogs, where blogging is done not by a post, but through media files uploaded to the blog. These blogs, and podcasting in general, take advantage of the shrinking cost of broadband internet connections, and the rising number of people with high speed access to offer a picture of the internet rich with multimedia files.

Secrets Of Finding High – Probability Home Based Business Prospects

without comments

First off, what is a high-probability home based business prospect? Simply put, a high-probability home based business prospect is one who is interested in becoming part of your business and not just that, they are also interested in working to bring more people in the business. Now, there is no measuring system to find out who of your prospects are high-probability and who aren’t, but there definitely are some indications that you need to watch out for.

Keep one thing in your mind. If you are stuck with a lot of low-probability prospects, they will simply waste your time. Even after chasing them for a while, they will not be interested in joining your business, probably due to certain preconceived notions. If you have such prospects around you, you should give them a miss if you have other prospects that you can try out. Even if these prospects do join, they will usually not be of any constructive help. They will not try determinedly to bring in new people. This is simply because they are themselves not convinced about the whole thing, so how can you expect them to convince others? Such prospects are best left alone.

So what are the secrets of finding high-probability prospects? For that, you need to do an analysis of the prospect either before you meet them or when you meet them for the first time. You have to try and find out certain things about them, some of which pertain to their personality traits.

See whether they are open to change.  A home based business opportunity requires open-mindedness. People with a cloistered narrow-minded approach will be detrimental to your pursuits. You could directly ask them how comfortable they are with change.

Check out what kind of a base the person has. The base refers to the social group of people that they move around with. If a person is a part of a club, for example, or a business leader, it is a great idea to have them in your business because they can influence others. Such people will also be open to change.

You could also see how willing the person is to put in some hard work and effort. See how convinced they are about the home based business idea. If these factors are positive, you could be sure that this person would be an asset to your business.

Most importantly, check out their personality. If they are easygoing, friendly and have an inspiring and motivating personality, you should try to talk them into joining your business. It would give a new lease to their life and would be a great boost to your business too.

without comments

If only self improvement advice were freely available and free of charge and scattered around everywhere, then there would be no problem regarding life, happiness and success. But then again, this is life; it is not a dress rehearsal. And it does not work that way.

Sometimes we all have to admit it is not always that easy though.  You will have to come out of your comfort zones to discover potentials and opportunities waiting for you.  You have to conquer your fear and take calculated risks. You have to stay focused and persevere despite the difficulties you will encounter.

Success does not come easy.  It takes heart, passion and time & of course some work. Experience is also a factor. The learning you get everybody becomes your foundation. These are the things we do not need to pay for.

You have to work harder, dig deeper, and sacrifice more to attain your ambitions. But no, you do not have to hate the world and feel bad when you encounter a difficult situation.  Just remember the Law of Attraction. If you hate the world, the world will hate you back.

What can you do? Below are some free advice tips to help you when facing difficult situations in life. They will also serve as your guide to improve yourself.

1. Learn to love your current situation.  See all the positive sides of life.  Be enthusiastic.  Love your boss, your co-workers, your family, your friends, and even strangers that you meet on the streets. It may not be easy, but nothing is impossible with a strong will power. Just do not fall in love so much that you totally forget about your dreams. Love, but try to hold on to reality.

2. Balance is the key.  Dream and take some positive action to move you toward your goals. I really don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but “Dreams Do Need Action” Without action “Your Dreams Are Mere Fantasy” Take it one step at a time. While you are slowly starting on the long journey to success, be patient and be as enthusiastic as possible.  Do not hurry up too much that you totally forget how to enjoy life. Appreciate the beautiful things you will encounter on the journey. One day, you will finally attain what you have always longed for.  But when that day comes, do not look down on those who belittled you. Forgive and forget.

3. Stay humble.  Do not criticize others when you see that you are becoming more successful than they are. Try to help them.  Inject your positive aura into their personalities.  When you give, you will yield back equal or greater rewards.

4. Are you ready to begin the journey?  Start it with the courage and desire to improve your life. Survive and go through it with persistence, enthusiasm, and positive thinking.  Finish it with a resounding bang of accomplishment and with the desire to help others succeed as well.

Some hints on taking your family to the Brisbane EKKA on a budget

without comments

As a parent  with three  kids & my partner who has five. I know what it’s like, the dread you start to feel, when that time of year comes around again, its that first week in August ( 6 – 15 August, 2009 ) , the flu is rife, this year of course it’s  the swine flu, it’s starting to get a little warmer. Unless it’s a day when the cold westerlies are blowing  across Brisbane and into the core of your existence. You know spring is just around the corner & then you see the advertising  ” It’s showtime, The Brisbane RNA show  or it’s more famous name ” The EKKA ” is here, you hope the kids don’t know its on, so you don’t have to face the crowds on peoples day.

But alas your child comes home from school ” Dad can we go the EKKA .”  Well you cant say no.  So how do you get there on a budget. How do you survive the day,  how can you turn that yearly trip we all take to the ” EKKA ” into a memory the kids will treasure for ever, an experience that you will enjoy, & a fun day for the whole family without the temper tantrums.

First tip save queuing buy your tickets in advance either online or at Queensland railway stations ( Hint “take the train the best way to get there”).

Second tip have a ” EKKA ” family strategy session so your prepared, you can find out so much information before you go for a great Internet sight  that is jam packed full of information you can check out the following site , just cut and paste in your browser to go there now

http://www.ourbrisbane.com/whats-on/ekka-feature

At this site you can see a map, have a look at all the show-bags, how much they cost,  accommodation needs, the rides, the parades, essential info like times, transport, the animals, there is even an online itinerary builder and stacks more.

From here you can plan in advance how many show bags you can buy & what ones the kids want (hint ” avoid the late show-bag rush grab your show bags when you first arrive, problem your stuck carrying them all day, Hmmm answer “you can get a locker for a few dollars”). Next plan how many rides & all the great stuff  in side show ally the kids can go on. How many treats you will buy the kids. What shows you want to see, which pavilion’s  & attractions you want to visit.

Make sure the kids eat plenty for brekkie & fill up on fruit & stuff to get them through to the first decided food break, and maybe get some fluid into them before going through the gate so they don’t ask for a drink within the first 5  minutes where you 3 times as much as outside.

Make sure everyone has a hat, jacket, jumper  & sunscreen- be prepared for all weather conditions. Check the weather before leaving to go.

When you first arrive decide on a designated meeting area where if someone gets lost you can meet. Also if you have little children make sure you talk to them about stranger danger. Also write your mobile on a tag and attach it some where on them or write it straight on their arm, so if  they get lost or you do get separated, someone can contact you easily to avoid the heart break of a lost child in an environment with so many people. Tell them to look for a security guard or  the police.

I hope these hints & tips help turn your trip to the EKKA one to remember.

Free Home Based Business Leads – Are They Worth It?

without comments

People who are into home based businesses usually go to any lengths to get information about potential prospects, which they term as leads. These leads are usually email addresses of people because the marketing pattern is mostly conducted online nowadays. In days of  stone age home based business building and even today, phone numbers are also significant leads and even home based businesses use these leads for their cold calling activities. But because cold calling has garnered a lot of flak lately, many home based business leaders are steering clear of phone numbers. Leads in today’s world usually refer to email addresses.

Now, there are some services on the Internet that offer to provide free home based business leads. You will find many companies offering to create leads for you either for free (they will be looking at selling some other more profitable service to you to cover for the cost of lead generation) or for a very small sum. Any home based business leader will be quite tempted by such an offer because there is a preconceived notion that leads are all it takes to make a home based business venture a success. And that is the reason most home based business leaders take the bait.

But, are these free home based business leads really worthwhile? Nary a bit! Even if these leads number in thousands, they will probably do zilch for furthering your business prospects.

Why is that so? There is a simple reason for that. To understand that reason, you must understand what targeted leads mean. Targeted leads are leads of those people who have evinced interest in a business opportunity like yours. For example, a person who visits your blog, wishes to know more and gives you their email address voluntarily so that you can send them more information is a targeted lead. Needless to say, such targeted leads are what have a higher probability to convert into a business prospect.

This is where the shortcoming of the free home based business lead services lies. These services do not find targeted leads specifically. Their leads are just some randomly generated email addresses that are passed on to you. Now, do you see why this won’t help you a bit? Because these emails are just at random, they do not have any interest for your business. You will need to use every trick in the book to pursue them and convince them to join your home based business opportunity. Quite an insurmountable task, that!

If at all you are planning a lead generation campaign for enhancing your home based business (which you certainly must), make sure you research on the targeted lead generation methods that exist. Take the help of the Internet in your research and you will understand how to go about it.
